The children in Primary 7 had their engineering hats on this week as they took on the challenge of building earthquake proof buildings in conjunction with their world around us topic based on earthqukes. Mr. Quigley has been working hard with the children investigating all aspects of earthquakes, from the Ring of Fire, to plate tectonics and recent earthquake disasters. The children were then keen to take on a STEM challenge so they decided to design and build buildings using recycled materials. They had a blast taking on this challenge and the results were impressive. I have no doubt that there will be a few successful builders and engineers in the future around Eglish!
